To post jobs or events to students, you must request and receive approval from each school selected.
After you submit a request to connect with a school(s) on Handshake, your request is automatically sent to each Career Center. Your request will remain in a Pending status until the school approves or declines your request.
During this time, you cannot interact with students at the school, post events, or request interview schedules at the school.
View school status
1. To begin, click Schools from the left navigation bar, then click the More Schools on Handshake tab.
2. To narrow your search results, select the Approval Status filter from the left sidebar, and check the boxes for Pending or In Progress.
3. The table will display all schools that have either a Pending or In Progress status, which indicates that your company has not yet been approved by the school.
It typically takes 1-5 business days for a school to approve an employer and their job postings. If you do not receive a response within that time frame, contact the Career Services department at the school.
Once the school approves or declines your request, you will be notified of your status via a notification and/or email. To view, or adjust your notification preferences, refer to Default Notification Preferences (Employers.
Note: your Handshake connection status with a school can only be changed by the Career Center at that institution.
Contact career services
To contact the Career Center, search for and click on the school's name in the search bar, located in the top-left of the page.
Their contact information will be located to the left of their profile page in the Contact Information section.
