Join a Virtual Career Fair Session

Handshake provides students with a unique opportunity to connect with employers through virtual career fair sessions.

To join a virtual career fair session with an employer, you must first register for a virtual career fair and sign up for the sessions you wish to attend. 

To sign up for a virtual career fair and employer sessions, refer to Signing Up for & Managing Virtual Fair Sessions.

 

Access your schedule

On the day of the fair, you can access your schedule in Handshake via your registered events. 

  • Click on Events in the left navigation menu.
  • Then click the button Registered, located in the upper-right corner.

In the side panel that appears, all career fairs you're registered at with the sessions you signed up for are displayed.

💡Note: The events are listed in order of occurrence, with the newest event at the top and the oldest at the bottom.
  • To view your schedule from the Career Fair details page, click on the name of the fair then click on the tab Your schedule.
  • To join a session directly, click on the session name.

 

Join your session

You can join your session from either the side panel or your schedule. Both options will allow you to join your session easily!

  • If you accessed your session from the side panel: Click the blue button Join Video located in the lower-left corner of the pop-up.

  • If you accessed your session from your schedule: All of your registered sessions will appear in order of when they occur, with the upcoming session at the top and past sessions listed below. To join your session, click the blue button Join Video button.

💡Note: The join session button will become available 5 minutes prior to the event start time. If you try to join the event anytime before 5 minutes, the 'Join video' button will be grayed out and unclickable.

 

🚀Tip: to ensure your audio and video is working prior to your session. For more information on testing your audio and video, refer to Attendees: Test audio and video.
