Attending a Virtual Event via Handshake

There are three ways to get to your event's details page in Handshake.

• Registration confirmation email
• Events page 
• Automated notifications in Handshake

Registration confirmation email

After you register, Handshake sends a confirmation email to the email address associated with your account.

Click the View event details button in the email to go to the event in Handshake.

1. Click Events in the left navigation menu, then click the calendar icon labeled Registered in the upper-right corner of the page to view your registered events.

2. Your registered events will appear in a panel on the right side of the screen. Click the event you want to attend.

Automated notifications in Handshake

Handshake sends two automated reminders before the event, one 24 hours before and one 4 hours before, both in-app and via email.

Note: If you register within 24 hours of the event start time, you will only receive the confirmation email and one reminder, sent one hour before the event. If you register within one hour of the start time, the one-hour reminder will be sent shortly after registration, so the time shown in the email may not be exact.

• To access the event from an in-app notification, click the bell icon in the upper-right corner of the screen and select the notification to go to the event page.
• To access the event from an email notification, click the event name in the first sentence of the email. 

These event reminder notifications are turned on by default. To update your notification settings, refer to Managing Your Notification Preferences.

On the event's details page, click the black Join event button to launch the event video. 

You can join up to 5 minutes before the scheduled start time and at any point through the scheduled end time.
