Employers can select from the interview timelines supported by the institution when requesting an interview schedule, and then customise the timeline to best suit their needs and preferences.
Handshake provides institutions with three basic interview schedule timelines to offer employers.
If you prefer a timeline schedule that isn't available, reach out to the institution to discuss a possible solution.
A room will be reserved in Handshake, but you will set up and manage your interviews outside Handshake.
You can select from applicants in Handshake but they will not be able to take slots in Handshake.
Specify an application period that allows students who meet the qualifications to reserve slots.
Qualifications are established via your job posting preferences. For additional details, refer to Understanding Job and Applicant Preferences.
- Applicants whose profile and primary education information match the preferences can take a slot immediately after applying.
- Applicants that don't match the preferences will be marked as Pending and will need to be manually updated to Primary in order to signup.
Specify both an application period and a signup period.
After the application period has ended, you will select Primary and Alternate candidates from the students who applied. To help ensure that your most promising candidates are able to find an acceptable interview slot:
- Candidates you designate as “Primary” are allowed to sign up any time after the primary signup date.
- Candidates you designate as “Alternate” are allowed to sign up any time after the alternate signup date.
