What are the messaging requirements for partner schools?
Basic and Pro employers must have at least one approved or closed job posting at the school where the student attends. Learn more in Understanding Job Posting Approvals.
Essentials and Enterprise employers can message students at partner schools without posting a job.
What are the messaging requirements for Handshake Open?
- Basic and Pro employers must have at least one approved or closed job posting at any partner school to connect with students and alumni in the Open Network. Learn How to Connect with Handshake Open Network.
What other requirements apply before messaging a student?
- If no job posting exists, the school must proactively approve the company.
- The student must have an activated profile with visibility set to Community or Employers. Profiles set to Private cannot be messaged.
- Employers must stay within their account's message limits. Learn more about your Message Limits in Handshake.
